The quality of a new unit for a lower cost. Power Transmission Services will either requalify your existing housing for reuse or source a qualified surplus housing for use.
The housing requalification process verifies housing bores and housing feet are within specification.
Additional machining is performed when required such as line boring or skimming of footpads. PTS will use new bearings, seals and shim-gasket kits, and new or certified gear and shafting service parts to assemble the unit. During the assembly process, fastener tightening torques, bearing clearances, and contact pattern checks will be performed.
After final assembly, the gear unit will be tested for a minimum 4-hour no-load (bi)directional spin test.
After a successful test, the unit will be painted, photographed, and prepared for shipment. New service manuals will be provided either electronically or in print.
